The Memory Keeper's Daughter
This book is about a couple who give birth to twins in a snowstorm and the dad gives the daughter away to a nurse because she has Down Syndrome. He tells his wife that their daughter died all the while knowing that she is alive.
I have been wanting to read this book for awhile now, and I finally went and got it from the library, and I have to say that I was disappointed in the way that it turns out. At the beginning of the book you are mad at David Henry (the dad) for giving away his daughter and telling his wife a lie, but then you come to love him for the remorse he feels and you start to dislike his wife.
Overall, I do not recommend this book.
